Terra Garrett, LCSW

Terra Garrett has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia since 2003. Originally from Oklahoma, she received a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Arkansas. Terra has been working in community mental health for over 25 years and has a strong passion for helping kids receive access to services.  She has a tenacious commitment to social justice and anti-racism and strives to create a safe, inclusive environment for those of all identities where everyone can feel respected, heard and valued.

She has extensive experience with treating school related anxiety and stress, and in helping families navigate the IEP/ special education process. She primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and short-term, solution focused treatment models and strives to be trauma informed in all treatment. Terra works with a wide range of presenting problems including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, familial relationships, organizational problems, self-harming behaviors and challenges with life transitions.

Terra lives in Fairfax with her husband and son. She enjoys traveling with her family to attend live music concerts, entertaining and cooking for friends, movies and reading.
